Spider Season

Orb spider - body is about 3cm - big

Keith dealing with webs spun across the path

We have got so many webs in the garden and the other evening we were putting out the rubbish bins when Fiona walked into a web, not intentionally of course. Then the next morning we came out of the front door and the spiders had started spinning webs right outside the door, probably wanting to keep us indoors, so this is what we found...

We also came across a redback spider (poisionous) while sweeping cobwebs off the window sills.
Not nice !

Spider attack

this one we ate ! Yummy !

do not know what type of spider this is, but look at how he
has made the zig zag pattern, so his legs look longer

We came out of our front door on Saturday morning and found a spider's web in early stages
of enclosing the front door, all down the path these spiders have been very busy setting up traps, so regretably we had to remove them.

Paintings

We were clearing boxes in the garage early this morning and came across Fiona's painting equipment with some things she painted a while back. Yes, she sketched and painted these herself, very arty farty.

Keith having a break

Today we did a hike in the Blue Mountains very tiring but good. There are lots of different routes and distances and difficulties (as steep climbs), we decided to start off on a medium route, about seven and half kms, lots of steps going down, but then you have to come back the same way, up !

Some of the pictures show how dense the vegetation is and seems to go on for miles (which it does).

Quilting

Give me a minute to think...

Taking a break from her writing, Fiona decided to make a quilt. She did a great job, her first quilt looks good, her mother would be proud. Another tick off Fiona's list of "Things to do before I die".
