End of August

Well, we still do not have our furniture ! On the good side, we have been advised by the shipping agent delivery is scheduled for 14/9/09 - we can't wait to get "our stuff".

We have not done too much in the last week. We planned on going to a Garden Expo at the Olympic Park in Sydney, but it rained heavily and wind was gale force, so we decided to give it a miss.

Weather permitting next weekend we are going to the Botanical Gardens, which is next to the Sydney Opera House, expect plenty pics.

What a life !

Keith taking some time out in his favourite chair

A braai

Keith made our first Aussie BBQ, just the two of us :) Delicious.

Caught this pair in one of the trees in the garden, they are very noisy.

New Bistro Set

Well, we saw it, Fiona really like it, so I said if she got a job, she could have it and that is
exactly what she did, so now we have another set, who knows where we are going to put all this stuff.

In the meantime it is really handy to have a table for our meals.

A trip to Newcastle

Keith had to go to the Pathology Dept at a hospital in Newcastle, which is a 2 hour drive, as it was a lovely day Fiona went with for the drive. Not much around the hospital, but got these pics from the car while travelling on the freeway/motorway.

A very scenic drive and hardly any cars on the road.

TV on loan from one of Keith's colleagues. We slept on a blow up mattress for a few days and then decided we needed a bed, so another trip to Ikea, as you can see we are sleeping in sleeping bags on the bed. Keith's back was still iffy, so decided to get a more comfortable chair for him (cream Ikea one). There are 3 double bedroom, 1x bathroom with large shower area, big hallway and of course a large deck.

back garden\yard

We have taken quite a few pics, so will feed it into the blog daily. These pics are of the front and back garden.

I have also been walking and walked into Parramatta from the house, took 35 minutes. The bus takes 10 minutes.

As you can see garden is like a postage stamp compared to Coerillas.

On the move again.....

our new temporary home

Front of house with driveway on left and stone steps

This time to the house.

One hectic morning, it is incredible how much "stuff" you collect in just 3 weeks, we moved out
of the apartment with the car fully loaded. Keith was sure we were going to have to do 2 loads, but we landed up putting things in every possible space.

Stress levels were high as we had to collect the key from the agent at 9.00am, Telstra were waiting to connect our landline and fridge was being delivered at 9.10am - so in the rush hour traffic, we tried to divert to a less busier road and caused ourselves even more delays.

Thank goodness it all worked out the fridge delivery guys waited for us. We arrived at the house with our car load at 9.40am.

Keith had a quick cup of tea and then headed to work.

The Weekend that was

Another part of the Parramatta River

Memorial to Aussies who fought in Boer War

Plaque for above memorial

Strange beings - fountain in the square

Band playing and some dancers

A busy weekend for us, had to sort out delivery of the new fridge, bought camping chairs, bed sheets, pillows etc to tie us over until the furniture arrives.

Sunday we went for a walk 5km, Keith's back held up very well. We then had a very nice pasta, chicken & avo salad for lunch at one of the local restuarants.

We are really excited about moving into the house on Tuesday. Fiona also has her first interview in many years on Monday, Good luck !

Some pics taken out and about Parramatta town centre. Live band playing in the square, a little market was also on the square. Nice vibe.

Also please note the sun is shining again
